Use the credit bureaus to dispute the information (if you haven’t already). If the accounts are verified then the bureaus should post the contact information (or at least the address). If the accounts aren’t verified (i.e. the company doesn’t verify them within 30 days) then they, by law, have to remove them from your credit bureau reports.

NationalCreditReport.com explains consumers’ rights to gratis credit reports yearly

Delray Beach, Florida (PRWEB) May 21, 2010

NationalCreditReport.com

help educate consumers about the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), enacted by the Federal Trade Commission, indicating that consumers can obtain their personal credit report free once a year from each of the three major credit bureaus (Experian ™, Equifax and TransUnion ™ ™), ensuring the consumer’s right to a report annual credit free, without registration in a credit monitoring service.

“The Fair Credit Reporting Act is an important piece of legislation aimed at protecting the consumer’s right to a free annual credit report,” said Samuel S. Ambrose, Vice President of Marketing and Operations NationalCreditReport. com. “NationalCreditReport.com advises consumers to regularly obtain their personal credit report and monitor for any change. Allowing people to access their own information for free once a year, they are able to get a bird’s eye view of how they are seen in the eyes of potential creditors. “

Although

allowing consumers to obtain their personal credit report, free of charge once a year, credit reports associated with the FCRA does not include credit scores important. In addition, if the consumer wants to check their credit reports more often than once a year, they will need to purchase additional reports.

“Many people access their credit reports to make sure that no inaccuracies or unexpected demands in their credit files,” said Ambrose. “Since not all creditors report to all three credit bureaus, we recommend that consumers obtain their personal credit report from each office at least quarterly, and to participate in a credit monitoring serving so that ‘they can be alerted immediately to changes in their report. ”

For consumers who do not want to participate in a free trial of its credit monitoring service, NationalCreditReport.com was the first in its industry to allow customers to purchase their credit report every time they want at a low price, with no negative impact on the consumer’s credit score. This offer, which NationalCreditReport.com called “No Strings”, began in January.

Credit Bureaus and Credit Scoring in European Union Countries

Credit Bureaus and Credit Scoring in European Union Countries

(PRWEB) June 16, 2004

New Research Report by Mercator Advisory Group – Credit bureaus play a critical role in today’s credit markets. The credit history information provided by the credit bureaus helps lenders assess and monitor the risk of lending, and hence make more informed and profitable business decisions. Taking a closer look at the European credit bureaus and understanding the current structure of the credit information industry, along with the financial privacy laws tin help lenders and credit bureaus developing strategies to position themselves in the individual European credit market.

Evren Bayri, Director for Mercator Advisory Group’s Credit Advisory Service, comments, “While the EU states typically have credit bureau(s), the exchange of information among them occurs at a marginal level. Some important reasons for this trend are the sluggish development of the European cross-border credit market, technical challenges that arise from differences among the credit bureaus and privacy regulation-related issues. As the mobility of the EU population increases and consumers start to shop around for cross-border credit, the demand for cross-border credit and hence the demand for cross-border credit information will increase. This will occurr regionally in the short run, where compatibility in privacy laws, lower language barriers, and the more consumer mobility create favorable conditions for cross-border lending and information sharing.”

This report puts the European credit bureaus and the state of the cross-border credit information sharing under the magnifying glass by providing:

1. A discussion on the public credit registers (PCRs) in the EU

2. A discussion on the private credit bureaus in the EU

3. A look at the cross-border information sharing and implications for the EU consumer credit market

4. A discussion on the regulation in financial privacy in the EU, and

5. A look at the types of information managed by the EU credit bureaus

The report contains 28 pages and 4 exhibits.
